Arabella Golf Mallorca receives EMAS certification for all four courses

Arabella Golf Mallorca in the only European Golf Resort with this prestigious environmental merit.

Arabella Golf Mallorca, a golf resort including Golf Son Muntaner, Golf Son Vida, Golf Son Quint and Golf Son Quint Pitch + Putt, receives this recognition after an extensive audit for its commitment to sustainability and the environment.

This year Golf Son Vida, Golf Son Quint and Son Quint Pitch + Putt join Golf Son Muntaner in obtaining the certification EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), the maximum European environmental certification for companies wishing to improve their environmental performance. EMAS stands for effective contributions for a better climate protection, supports energy efficiency and resource savings, confirms that all environmental regulations are met, and is a solid foundation for sustainable development.

Arabella Golf Mallorca has been working for years developing well-founded environmental policy, with the following propositions: align itself with the sustainability goals set by the United Nations, transform Arabella Golf Mallorca in a circular company, taking the environment fully into account within Arabella Golf Mallorca´s strategy and investing in innovation and leadership when addressing environmental challenges.

All the above is contained in a new environmental program, Green Evolution. This strategic plan is based on four main pillars, which are the management of water as well as energy, sustainable consumption and the preservation of the natural environment.

“We have a strong commitment to sustainability, which we have been developing for years. Obtaining EMAS Certification for all our four courses greatly illustrates this. Now is the time to consolidate all initiatives and take a qualitative leap into a comprehensive project that allows us to take the environment into account in all our strategic decisions”, explains Bernat Llobera, area director of Arabella Golf Mallorca.

Looking at 2021, Arabella Golf Mallorca will continue to develop its environmental action plan, fully framed within its ESG criteria: encouraging the use of renewable energy, continuing to reduce the carbon footprint and decreasing the use of natural resources (water, energy and fuels), plastics and chemicals, and reusing the organic matter generated, are actions that define the commitment to continue to be a benchmark in aspects of environmental management, betting on always including sustainability in the choice of its business strategies.
