The Real Club de Golf El Prat flew to London to participate to the “Barcelona Golf day”, an event organized by Barcelona Provincial Council and Barcelona Golf Destination, to present the Catalan Capital as a golf destination.

The event took place at the exclusive London Golf Club located in Kent, about 20 miles southeast of London, and was attended by tour operators, journalists, and influent people from the world of golf in the United Kingdom.

The day began with breakfast and a networking session where all attendees were able to know each other better and speak about Barcelona, its surroundings, and its golf courses indeed.

Participants were then invited to play a tournament, followed by a presentation and lunch.

Barcelona Golf Destination is the result of the union of seven golf courses in the province of Barcelona with the common goal of positioning the territory and the city as one of the best golf destinations in Europe. The association has the support and collaboration of the Barcelona Provincial Council, and together they have created an ambitious action plan to promote the city internationally and attract quality tourism.

Mercè José, Director of the tourist board said: “The successful presentation to the British market of Barcelona as a golf destination is a clear example of the opportunities that public-private collaboration can open up in terms of tourism promotion. We are sure that the action will contribute to position the province of Barcelona in the golf map and that will generate new business opportunities related to other segments such as gastronomic and wine tourism.”

Under the Barcelona Golf Destination brand, there are golf courses that hosted the most prestigious national and international tournaments such as the Spanish Open. The clubs are located in different natural landscapes and offer a great variety of experiences.
